Dubai's Amazing Architecturally Designed Buildings

Two amazing buildings in the city of Dubai are the Princess tower and the Almas Tower. These two buildings are the tallest buildings used as residential and office buildings.

The Princess Tower is the "tallest all-residential building in the world" (Source: List of Tallest Buildings in Dubai) It has been classified as the world's tallest residential building since 2012. It comes in at 414 meters (1,358 feet). The tower is comprised of 101 stories, not counting the 6 stories below ground. The plan for the building was proposed in 2005, and construction for the building began in 2006. The structural materials used to create this marvelous tower were steel and concrete. The building was completed in 2012. The tower has 763 apartments. It also contains 957 parking spaces. Say that each apartment only had 1 car, that still left 194 free spots for staff and visitors to park. The tower contains 13 elevators which reach speeds of 6 m/s. The tower is ranked #14 tallest building in the world, #3 in the Middle East, #2 in UAE, and #2 tallest in Dubai. This is a top of the line building. Only the elite of the elite could buy a pent house here. If you have $28.5 million to spend, you could land yourself a new 6,122 sq. ft. penthouse in this amazing building. For $28.5 million, i would expect gold toilets and diamond counter tops. I now see why that penthouse cost so much! The Princess Towers cost clocks in at £134 million or $210 million USD. That penthouse is only 7.5% of the buildings cost. The Princess Tower beat the previous record holder for tallest residential building. It was the 23 Marina, which was built in the same year. The Marina came in at 1,289 feet tall. It fell short of the Princess Tower by a little less than 70 feet.

The Almas Tower is the "tallest all-office building in the city" (Source: List of Tallest Buildings in Dubai). The word almas in Arabic means diamond. So the literal translation for the tower is diamond tower. The building is 360 meters (1,180 feet) tall. Construction for the building began in 2005 and finished in 2009. The structural material used was concrete. The building has 68 stories above ground and 5 stories below ground. The tower has 35 elevators that can reach speeds of 7 m/s. The tower has 1,700 parking spots. It is ranked as the 5th tallest building in the city of Dubai. It is ranked #25 tallest building in the world, #7 in the Middle East, #5 in UAE, and #5 in Dubai. "Diamond cutting and exchange take place at the tower. Due to the type of transactions taking place at the tower, high security is installed" (Source: Almas Tower)  It ranked 8th in the 2009 Emporis Skyscraper Award. It was the tallest building in Dubai until it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in 2010. The building is located on its own artificial island. To buy a 3,300 sq. ft. office building in the Almas Tower, it would cost you 9,900,000 AED or $2,695,345 USD. You better be running some high end business if you are buying an office here.

Now that you know about two amazing buildings in Dubai, and their ridiculous price tags, lets just hope that we don't spend $2.6 million on an office building or $28.5 million for a penthouse. These are just two of Dubai s high class and high end buildings.
